Hi! This is Arpita. I have completed my under graduation from Calcutta University in Sociology and done a professional course in animation from Framebox Animation and Visual Effects. At present, I am doing photography professionally. Landscape, street, wildlife, macro and portrait are my favourite genres. I have covered various events and assignments. Many of my photographs have been exhibited in the past. Of which, few are worth mentioning… I was the only female participant whose photograph was exhibited in India’s First Instagram Exhibition. I am a wanderer, I love to explore and my machine allows me to freeze precious moments for future.

Hello! Thank you for this feature. My name is Piyali Naskar & I’m a self-taught street photographer based in Kolkata. I started practicing photography two years ago and fell in love with this art right away. Since starting, I have been using my mobile camera for photography (yes I started off clicking photographs with my cell phone camera and still enjoying it). For me, photography is not about the gears you used, it’s your vision to tell a story with a frame. And when it comes to street photography, it’s only about practice and more practice since it doesn’t require any specialised equipment. I like to photograph mostly in natural light to play with shadows on the streets. Photographing people with their various gestures and activities on streets are my favourite. I also have a keen interest in documentary photography and photojournalism. I prefer shooting in the black and white mode most of the time. It helps me to observe compositions and emotions more strongly. Photographers like Trent Parke, Elliott Erwitt, Vineet Vohra, Sasikumar Ramachandran inspire me a lot.
One of my work has exhibited at Nil Ratan Sircar Medical College, Kolkata on their annual fest and also my works featured by Inspiro India Magazine, Creative Image Magazine and recently by Indian Shutterbugs on their website.
Hi there! I’m Shamata Banerjee, a small town girl from Berhampore, Murshidabad and just completed my Masters’ degree in Zoology from Bethune College. From childhood, I was a photography enthusiast. This hobby started to capture my mind fully when I saw my father travelling and capturing a beautiful picturesque view of snow covered mountains. So I got my first Sony Cyber-shot as a reward after 12th. Not to mention I knew nothing about photography at that time, but started learning from my father. After 3 years, we went to visit Jaldapara Sanctuary, and voila! My cam broke due to an accident. Then after completing my bachelor’s degree, I got my first DSLR, Nikon d5100. It was completely a new world, a new beginning, and I started to capture landscapes, portraits, nature etc. but after some days, the “macro” world caught my attention. I started experimenting with reverse macro, macro filters and many more things, and then Tamron 90 mm. Till now I’m using this setup and someday I plan to travel the whole world and bring those hidden tiny beauties in front of everyone. Thanks to weekend trivia for giving me a chance to share my experience 🙂
