Dance is deep-rooted in the Indian culture since ages and it has been most prominent in the Indian film industry since time immemorial. One of the most impressive aspects of Indian Cinema is the amount of effort and details they put into various aspects of dancing. From graceful Classical dance forms to tried and tested contemporary dance forms, you have seen it all. Over the years the dancers and dance forms have evolved and we have seen many actors/actresses who have been brought to attention for their intricate dance moves, attention to detail. Here we bring you top 10 dancers of the Indian film industry who we think are the best in recent times. Even if some of them are lacking in acting areas, they make it up with their impeccable acting. 10. Alia Bhatt: 

She is a fairly good dancer and has showcased her skills right from her first film Student of the Year. Both her acting and dancing skills have increased significantly and she displayed some really good moves in some of her recent performances like Tamma Tamma, Ladki Beautiful, Gulaabo etc. She looks both graceful and chic with her moves!

9. Varun Dhawan:

Another debutant of the Student of the Year trio, the son of comedy film director David Dhawan, Varun Dhawan has been a promising dancer right from his first films. He has quite flexible body movements with fairly good leg movements. Some of his superb dancing skills can be seen in songs like Sun Saathiya, Saturday Saturday, Bezubaan Phir se, Manma emotion jaage, Hey Ganaraya etc. He also performs regularly in many events and award functions which is proof enough of how good he is.

8. Shahid Kapoor: 

A veteran dancer, Shahid Kapoor has awed his fans and critics alike with his amazing dance moves. A trained dancer from the Shiamak Davar dance academy, he was into dancing from a very early age. Some of his remarkable dance performances are Gustakh Dil, Nagada, Gandi Baat, Dhan-te-nan, Pump it up etc.

7. Shraddha Kapoor: 

She is a hidden treasure. In her initial days we had no idea that she could dance so well and the cult dance film ABCD 2, we suddenly found her talent. Now we know, she can not only sing but dance as well. She has some extremely good performances in her kitty and is one of the few good female dancers present. Some songs where she has showcased her talents are Dance Basanti, Sun Saathiya, Cham Cham, Let’s Talk about love, Hey Ganaraya etc.

6. Tiger Shroff: 

He may not possess great acting skills but he has blown everyone away with his dancing and acrobatic skills. Even though his films have many flaws, but he always makes his premise for showing off his skills, especially in the movie Munna Michael where he gave a homage to Michael Jackson in the song Main Hoon. His moves in the song were extremely difficult, extremely well executed. His some other famous dances are in the songs like Beat pe booty, Ding Dang, Swag etc.

5. Jr. NTR: 

Jr. NTR or Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao Jr. is an Indian film actor of the Telugu film industry. He is a trained Kuchipudi dancer and has performed in several shows both in India and abroad, winning laurels. He has excellent grace and form and can dance in several dance forms. Some of his famous performances are Tring Tring, Pranaamam, Love Dhebba, Nachore Nachore.

4. Katrina Kaif: 

She had to be in the top ranks of our list. When she came to Bollywood, her dance moves were sloppy and not all synchronized. But this dedicated actress took up the challenge and learned different dance forms. And what we see now is pure delight. Be it matching her steps to Hrithik in Bang Bang, or carrying on a solo performance in Kala Chasma, she is right up there. Her recent act in Swag se karenge sabka Swagat was an instant hit. She more than makes it up for her abysmal acting skills with her on-screen presence and dancing prowess.

3. Hrithik Roshan: 

Well, he is the God of dancing in Bollywood of recent times. His flawless waves in Ek Pal Ka Jeena, flexibility in Main Aisa Kyun Hoon, cool and classy sensuality in Dhoom Again, perfect leg movement in Bang Bang, synchronized dance forms in  Kites and many many more are unmatched. He is definitely the unconquered dance king in Bollywood and when it comes to style, there is no one to match him.

2. Prabhu Deva: 

There is nothing much there to talk about this actor. He is simply brilliant. We had a tough time in selecting the number one spot and Prabhu Deva only got a miss because he has been there in the industry for a fairly long time. His insane skills are bang on point and always leave us mesmerized. He is a choreographer, actor, director and cinematographer. Not for no reason is he referred to as the Indian Michael Jackson. We simply cannot choose just a handful song which can be considered as his best performances. With every dance number, he touches a new Milestone. He is a legend.

1. Allu Arjun:

He is a Telugu sensation and hands down he grabs the top spot on our list. To every other actor who can dance, they all pale in comparison to this south superstar. His Top Lesipoddi song brought into foray his genius in dance. He won the hearts of the audience with superb energy and vigour. How he could perform that well, is a mystery we may never know. Some of the movements which he delivers seem to be beyond human execution, but Allu Arjun performs them with perfection. Some of his other famous dance numbers are My Love Is Gone, Cinema Choopistha Mava, Break Dance, Nath Nath.
