Q2: What attracts you to your genre?Whose work has influenced you most?

A: Always I like to capture different human expressions and that is what leads me in this genre. Work of different famous portrait photographers influenced me. Here I must mention the name of Mr. Rajdeep Biswas from whom I learnt a lot and still he is always there on my side to guide me.

Q3: Is it important to have any professional training to be a photographer? Did you have any at the time you set of your journey?

A: Its not mandatory to have a training but if you really want to learn photography its useful to have such training. I have completed Diploma in photography 1yr ago.

Q4: When you go in one of your photo-shoot which one is your favorite lens and why do you prefer it?

A: Generally for indoor portraiture I prefer Nikon 85mm 1.8G or Nikon 70-200mm 2.8 VR.
I prefer this lens because ideal focal length for human face is 75-100 mm so these two meet up that criteria & another thing is that the performance is excellent.

Q5: How do you as a photographer make sure that the thing, person or landscape you want to shoot looks the way you want it to?

A: At first you must be clear in your mind that what do you want from your subject and then you have to convey that clearly to your model so that he/she can pose accordingly.

Q6:Can you explain to the budding photographer what makes the good picture stand out from the average?

A: In portrait photography mood and expression is most important. You have to create proper mood according to your styling, dress, make-up and also use of colors. A good photo is combination of all of these things. One also can use different perspective, angels or d.o.f to create a good picture.

Q7: Colour or black and white what goes with the portrait photography best?

A: Both are best. You have to choose according to your picture.

Q8: When you get an idea in your head for a photo, how do you go about getting that shot?

A: You always have to pre-visualize before you start you shoot. Then you talk with the make-up artist, styler to get their view on that. After that finally you talk to your subject and express your thoughts and start shooting…

Q9: How do you get the perfect expression or pose from your models? How do you make them understand your exact thoughts?

A: It’s a bit tricky. First you must let you model know exactly what you want from her/him. You can also give some picture as reference to better understanding. But for final out put you must guide them as per your thought.
