Interview with the Winner of the Indian Culture 2K19 Photography Contest APRATIM PAL
As you all must be aware by now that on November 2019, WeekendTrivia had collaborated with TheUncommonBox to conduct a photography contest based on Indian Culture. Our prizes were kindly sponsored by Whooami.official . The winner of the contest was Apratim Pal and here we bring for you, an interview with Apratim

Apratim comes from Kolkata, who along with his studies, is doing a specialization in Photojournalism and who had always had a keen sense of interest in photography. He has also been awarded with several awards and wants to take up photojournalism as his profession. Read on to know more about him.

Q. Congratulations!!! It must feel good to be a winner… Can you please give your introduction to our viewers?
A: I am Apratim Pal from Kolkata. I have recently graduated from Guru Nanak Institute of Pharmaceutical Science and Technology. At present I am doing a specialization course in Photojournalism from the National Academy of Photography. Photography has always been my hobby and passion from the very childhood. Exploring new places and capturing different activities around these in the lens is my favorite interest.
Q. If you don’t know let us tell you we have posted 20 interviews of famous photographers on our blog. How does it feel to be interviewed on the same platform with them?
A: As you ask my experience on sharing the platform with 20 famous Photographers I truly feel elated and honored to have this opportunity.
Q. What is your favorite genre of photography and why?
A: My favourite genre is Journalism – News event Photography.
Q. Which gear you use? For how long you are doing it?
A: My winning shot is captured by Canon EOS 5D MarkIII , I am also using Fujifilm XH1 , Fujifilm XT100 , Nikon D750 and Sony Alpha 6000.
Q. Do you want to take photography as your prime profession or is it already your profession?
A:Yes, I want to pursue Photo Journalism as my profession and I am currently preparing for the same.
Q. In the next five years where do you want to see yourself in the photographic world?
A: Photography is my passion and I want to devote my life capturing mesmerizing moments. But if you ask specifically then I would want to see myself as a Sport Photo Journalist, capturing the intense moments of International Games.
Q. Whom do you admire the most in photography and why?
A: My inspiration and admiration towards Photography has come from one person, President Award winner my father, Aniruddha Pal, my inspiration. I feel very lucky being his son and watching his Photographic works since my childhood. He has shown within me the love for Photography and he is the supporting force behind whatever I have achieved today.
Q. What are/is your biggest achievement so far?
A: I do photography for the last 7 years and I participate in many competitions, my winning awards are –
Gujrat State Lalit Kala Academy Award, Indo – Bangladesh Photography Award, SAAP Journalism Award, Best Travel Photographer of the Year 2017 by World Photographers Club, The Nature Conservancy Photography Competition Second prize winner of people in nature category, Grand Prize Winner of Fujifilm Photo Contest for two times and others. My works exhibited in more than 30 countries all over the world. Recently my photo is selected for Nikon Photo Contest Official Calendar 2020, Japan.
Q. What do you want to say to the other budding photographers?
A: I just want to say enjoy the Photography and keep clicking to the fullest , feel every emotion, every shot you have captured and keep capturing amazing photographs.

A: Yes, I have visited the blog, this is really amazing initiative. I think newcomers will get help from this blog for betterment of their own work.
