Q. What is your favorite genre of photography and why?
A: My favorite genre of photography has to be Wildlife and landscape. I love anything that has to do with nature although I am a huge fan of street portraits as well. India is a portrait hub for me. But I mostly love to be in nature. Every genre has its own challenges, but considering every possible point, I think nature photography is very challenging. We don’t have any control over nature. Wildlife will not respond according to our wishes and climates too for landscape photography. Some moments
are gone within seconds. And in that little time, you have to take your position, make sure technically your camera in right settings, and composition. All these things you must put into very quick only then
you will capture that wow shot. Otherwise, you will miss it. On the other hand, the landscape also has climate challenges. You have to be fit enough to survive in the field. Street portrait without giving
instructions to the subject is also tricky. You have to deal with expressions, emotions and have to capture in such a manner so that the viewer can connect through it.

Q. Which gear you use? For how long you are doing it?
A: As I have been taught by my mentor, gears in the right hand only have their actual worth. I started with canon in September 2014 and recently I shifted to Nikon. My best friend Diptamoy Sanyal is the main instigator behind my photography journey. He is the one who encouraged me to
pursue it and constantly supporting from the very beginning. And now I am completed my 5 years in photography.

Q. Do you want to take photography as your prime profession or is it already your profession?

A: Like I mentioned earlier, my passion lies mainly in wildlife photography which is a little hard to turn into a prime profession .So right now I am just an enthusiast who loves to capture the unseen. But if I have the scope to make it a full time prime profession, I would straight out do it. I love to be in nature, so that would be my absolute pleasure to get out there and capture the wilderness and some unseen
magic moments.

Q. In the next five years where do you want to see yourself in photographic world?
A: My priority always is to be able to capture some amazing world-class images. .The next things on my list are to work with NatGeo, BBC, Discovery. And I hope to be a brand Ambassador for leading photography brands.I want to be in a position that can influence a photographer to be a better photographer, and make people fall in love with nature through images. So that we could responsibly conserve nature and inspire more creativity along the way.

Q. Whom do you admire the most in photography and why?
A: Oh god! There is a long list. But probably my photography sir, guru, my mentor Sri Rudra Mandal sir. He taught me everything from camera handling to composition techniques to post-processing
and whatnot. And also Mr. Dhritiman Mukherjee sir and Mr. Sudhir Shivaram sir. They are my idols. These people, they don’t just capture, they create an image. And that is the one thing I
admire the most and always strive for.
